Padma Bhushan Dr. Subhash C. Kashyap, President, INBA left for his heavenly abode at his residence on June 4, 2026. It is with profound grief and a heavy heart that the Indian National Bar Association (INBA) informs you of the passing of our revered leader, Padma Bhushan Dr. Subhash C. Kashyap, today at his residence. As our long-standing President, Dr. Kashyap was the guiding light and foundational pillar of INBA for years. His immense wisdom, visionary leadership, and gentle guidance shaped the very trajectory of our association. His departure leaves a monumental void in the entire legal fraternity. The passing of Padma Bhushan Dr. Subhash C. Kashyap is a monumental loss to the nation, the legal fraternity, and everyone who values the study of the Indian Constitution. As a legendary constitutional expert, scholar, and former Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha, his contributions to and preserving India’s democratic and parliamentary systems are unparalleled. His authoritative books like Our Parliament and Our Constitution have guided generations of lawyers, students, and researchers. We extend our deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Act as premier body representing the interest of Indian Legal Community & to strive to
provide several economic & social benefits that should accrue to them;
To promote the interactions and bridge the gap between the bar and bench;
Upholding the honor of the profession of law,
Promoting the interests of its members and fostering harmonious relations, Co-operation and
discussion among the incorporated law societies, judges, barristers’ societies and general
corporations of the Bars of the states and territories and the members of the INBA,
Encouraging a high standard of legal education,
Doing all things necessary to benefit the members of INBA;
Participate in and promote law reforms in order to foster science, technology, R&D, and
innovation in the Country;
Protecting the interests of the members of all State Bar Associations and
Participate in and promote public legal education.
