2ND INTERANATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CONTEMPORARY INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

The recent proxy wars by five different nations through non-state actors in Syria has brought out the entirely new discourse in International law, there are many legal ‘grey’ areas in the contemporary international law, which are completely unaddressed by academia world. Despite of the immense importance of these issues, there has been hardly any discussion outside the normal rhetoric political opinions. The issues include the tacking the issues of IDP, privatisation of war, role of private army and security companies in armed conflict, the growth of rights and obligations of non-state actors under IHL.

Furthermore, the North-Korea’s constant threat of possible nuclear attack against U.S.A and for much worse the U.S response with nuclear attack has brought the whole another level of possible mass destruction.  In the light of this incident, the academia world has to discuss and debate the issues involved in the International Nuclear law and also there is a need to address the State responsibility and liability for nuclear attack. One-day international symposium is conducted with a purpose to create a proper platform to discuss and contribute to various unconventional subject but emerging topics like International Nuclear law, Air and Space Law and International Military law.

The sole reason for creating this international symposium is to enlighten the academic world with different perspective and presentation of theoretical and practical knowledge with respect to themes of the symposium. In the past years, there has been huge participation of academicians, lawyers, research scholars and students from various parts of the country in the international symposium. The specific sub-themes will help the participants to channelize their research work to address the emerging challenges faced by each disciplines.

Thus, following the success of its First Edition, The Indian Journal of Law & International Affairs (ISSN 2518-3257), in association with F & D Foundation and Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, is organising the Second Edition of the International Symposium on ‘Contemporary International Affairs’ on 7th April 2018.
